If you havent played with a icelandic goat it’s about time because we will visit one of very few goat farms in Iceland experiencing this very friendly and playful animals.
And before we head back to Reykjavík we are stopping at the historic place of Reykholt where Snorri Sturluson once lived – and died.

After pickup in the Reykjavík capital area we drive to West Iceland with a comfort stop on the way. Our first stop will be Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in all Europe producing hot water for the central heating system for almost all West Iceland.
Reykholt historic place lies only few minutes drive away. This was the home of the viking chieftain, writer and priest Snorri Sturluson who lived here and died in 1241 – killed by orders from the Norwegian king.
Hraunfossar or the lava waterfalls are just plain and simple – very unique – even here in Iceland where we have a lot of waterfalls. Only 2 minutes walk away is Barnafossar – the childrens waterfall but the name comes from a old folktale.
Everybody who visit Iceland know about our sheep – less people have heard about goats – imported like the sheep with our first settlers but almost came extinct but with hard work from Johanna goat farmer at Háafell who saved the species. They love to play – don’t you ?
On our way back to Reykjavik passengers have option (have to be booked in advance over summer and holidays) to visit Krauma geothermal baths and spa – powered with geothermal water from Deildartunguhver.
This is Iceland so we always recommend that you bring extra layer of clothing, rain jacket, hat and gloves. Hiking paths on this tour are very good so lighter hiking booths are fine – even good sneakers or off trail running shoes.
In winter some spots can be slippery or icy so we provide crampons that will fit on any shoes.
All the vehicles we use are new and in excellent condition like LandRover Defender or Toyota Proace Luxury.
Our guides are local with load of experience on Icelandic roads.
No meals are included on this tour. Lunch stop will be either at Geysir with variety of options or Efstidalur dairy farm where we sometimes have to book in advance.
Safety is our thing – the headguide has been a professional Search & Rescue member for 12 years and a volunteer for more than 35 years leading more icelandic projects than anyone in safety in tourism.
We keep our guides well trained and our passengers safe – there is no other option.
