Landmannalaugar is a beautiful region in the highland of Iceland – sometimes called Fjallabak or the Area behind the mountains. It is known globally for its spectacular landscape and amazing hiking trails. With its colorful rhyolite mountains, hot springs, clear blue lakes, and a variety of other geological formations, this bubbling geothermal wonderland is something you can not miss on your Iceland adventure.
“Landmannalaugar Nature Reserve has been described as something so spectacular and unique that it cannot be put into words by many. On this tour, we will enjoy the best of the best.
After a drive through the South Iceland countryside, we will “enter” the highlands and the breathtaking landscapes that can be found there. We will visit the Hnausapollur volcanic crater and the Sigöldufossar waterfalls, but our main stop is at Landmannalaugar.
We will take an easy walk and visit the Laugahraun lava field as well as the geothermal area by Brennisteinsalda mountain. Before heading back to Reykjavik, the geothermal natural hot spring awaits us. So, don’t forget to bring your swimsuit.”
Since we are heading to the highland we recommend good shoes – hiking boots or trail running shoes. Also some wind & waterproof jacket. A hat, glove and a extra layer in your backpack is also a good thing.
We are visiting a natural hot pool so of course towel and swimsuits.
All the vehicles we use are new and in excellent conditions like LandRover Defender and Toyota ProAce Luxury.
Our guides are local with loads of experience in Icelandic conditions and in the highland.
No meals are included in this tour. Not many possibilites to buy something in the highland.
It is best to bring something with you for lunch or we can stop somewhere on the way to buy something for the backpack.
